If you can’t find your vehicle listed in Extra Settings by make and model, there’s an excellent chance you may be the first person to install a HEX ezCAN PURE on your particular vehicle.
In this case, be a Superstar! Help out everyone who installs on the same model in future by sharing your own Extra Settings adjustments.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Test all your installed accessories to make sure they work as expected, and adjust your ezCAN PURE Extra Settings until they work perfectly.
  2. Send an Email to support@hexecan.com, with the subject line My ezCAN PURE Extra Settings. Include all the following information:
    • The make, model, and model year of your vehicle.
    • The voltage registered on your multimeter when the multimeter probes are touched to your battery terminals, the engine is running, and the headlight is active.
    • The voltage registered on your multimeter when the engine has not been run for at least 30 seconds, and:
      • The ignition switch is ON.
      • The kill switch in the RUN position.
      • The multimeter probes are touched to your battery terminals.
    • All five of your chosen Voltage Threshold settings.
    • Your chosen horn inversion setting.
    • Your chosen high beam inversion setting.

The HEX ezCAN PURE Universal Accessory Manager raises the game by allowing near plug-&-play levels of convenience both for vehicles on which essential CAN-bus data is not present, and for vehicles that do not use CAN-bus communication at all. It is a universal-fit product designed to work with a wide range of 12V motorcycles.

However, universal products are not guaranteed to be compatible with every vehicle. Successful installation requires access to specific trigger signals, including high beam, ignition, indicators, brake and horn. Some modern motorcycles utilise digital control systems where certain functions — such as high beam and/or brake lights — are operated via digital communication signals rather than traditional on/off trigger wires. In such cases, the required analogue trigger signals may not be accessible.

Before purchasing or installing the HEX ezCAN PURE, please consult your motorcycle’s owner’s manual and carefully review the product specifications and installation requirements to ensure compatibility with your vehicle.

The HEX ezCAN PURE uses three-pin Sumitomo MT connectors (below) with the following components:

  • Sumitomo MT male connector:
    • Plug: 6187-3232
    • Terminal: 1500-0105
    • Wire seal: 7160-8234
  • Sumitomo MT female connector:
    • Receptacle: 6180-3242
    • Terminal: 1500-0110
    • Wire seal: 7160-8234

The specifications of all wiring are given below.

  • High-power output wires (red & orange) are 16 AWG (1.5 mm²)
  • Control wires for 3-wire lights (red with white tracer and white with black tracer) are 18 AWG (0.75 mm²)

You can only switch auxiliary front lights on and off, and adjust their light levels while the vehicle is moving, if you have installed and configured an ezBUS-Certified Accessory that allows you to do so.

Currently, the following ezBUS-Certified Accessories allow you to adjust auxiliary front light levels on the move:

For detailed instructions on how to operate front auxiliary lights on the move (including turning the lights on and off, adjusting light intensity levels, temporarily switching off all front and rear lights, and strobing front auxiliary lights when the bike’s ‘Flash-to-pass’ button is pressed), refer to the Operating auxiliary front lights section of the HEX ezCAN User Manual. Model-specific HEX ezCANs allow different light levels for day and night running, and include the daytime Modulation feature for front auxiliary lights. On the relevant HEX ezCANs, the ability to collect CAN-bus data from the motorcycle’s ambient light sensor or clock makes this functionality possible.

The HEX ezCAN PURE is designed specifically for fitment to vehicles on which essential CAN-bus data is not present, and for vehicles that do not use CAN-bus communication at all. This means the HEX ezCAN PURE is unable to determine whether it is day or night.
Therefore, the HEX ezCAN PURE does not include day/night light level and Modulation functions.

A generic input harness is included with the HEX ezCAN PURE. However, for quicker, easier fitment to selected motorcycle models, a range of model-specific plug-&-play input harnesses are also available.
