HEX ezBUS Technology
Smart Accessory Control
All Generation II HEX ezCAN devices (including ezCAN-based devices such as the Denali CANsmart and Lone Rider MotoCAN) support HEX ezBUS.
ezBUS is a new way to connect smart accessories through a simple plug-and-play connection. With ezBUS, installation is easier than ever, and you’re no longer limited to just four power outputs: you can expand your setup effortlessly!
Look for accessories that carry either of the Certified – HEX ezBUS Ready marks seen below. Accessories carrying these marks are officially licenced to use the HEX ezBUS firmware protocol. The protocol is built to standards that ensure your chosen accessories work smoothly, reliably, and seamlessly.

HEX ezBUS Technology
How does HEX ezBUS work?
HEX ezBUS is a three-wire power circuit system built into the white output circuit of all Generation II HEX ezCANs.
As well as supplying regular 12-volt power, ezBUS functions as a local interconnect network (LIN-bus) channel, allowing two-way communication between connected smart accessories.
In context of ezBUS, a smart accessory is an electronic accessory that has been designed with a pre-configured digital address.

How do I connect an ezBUS accessory to the HEX ezCAN?
IMPORTANT: ezBUS mode is not available on Generation I HEX ezCANs.
To connect ezBUS-Certified Accessories to a Generation II HEX ezCAN and enable ezBUS functionality, follow these general steps:

- Connect all ezBUS-Certified Accessories to the white (ezBUS) power circuit. A wide range of MT-to-MT, MT-to-JWPF, JWPF-to-JWPF and MT-to-MT-&-JWPF connectors and adaptors are available to facilitate accessory connection. Browse the HEX ezCAN product category in the Hex online store for details.
- Click the hamburger menu button in the upper right corner of the ezCAN configuration software interface.
- Click the ezBUS Devices option in the drop-down menu. This option will only be shown if you have set the white power circuit to ezBUS mode.
