This is a step-by-step guide to installing an optional, model-specific HEX ezCAN PURE plug & play input harness on KTM 390 models manufactured from 2025 onward.

Plug & play harnesses are currently available for the following KTM motorcycles:
- 390 Adventure X
- 390 Adventure R
- 390 Enduro

IMPORTANT: All disassembly and reassembly instructions on this page are to be regarded as a guide only. For detailed instructions, refer to your motorcycle’s service or workshop manual as appropriate.

- Rimuovere il sedile.
- The battery is located under the front part of the seat. Remove the protective battery cover (red arrow, left).
- Remove the headlight assembly.
- Remove the left-side front and right-side front turn signals.
- Disconnect the 2-pin JWPF connectors connecting the left and right front turn signals to the motorcycle’s wiring harness (right).
- The wiring harness connector for the tail light is located in the rearmost portion of the rear subframe, in front of the tail light.
- The wiring harness connector for the tail light is a black, 3-pin JWPF connector (left).
- The white 4-pin headlight connector is located behind the headlight (red arrow, right).
- The horn is located on the front right side of the engine, below the radiator (left).

When installing a HEX ezCAN PURE on KTM 390 models, we recommend that you install the main body of the HEX ezCAN underneath the rear part of the seat, behind the rear sub-frame cross-tube.

Connect the 6-pin male JWPF connector on the optional plug & play input harness to the ezCAN PURE’s 6-pin female JWPF connector (below).

Per prima cosa, spegnere l'interruttore di accensione della motocicletta.
Next, connect the input connectors on the optional plug & play harness to the motorcycle as follows:
Splitter HIGH BEAM (destra):
- Disconnect the motorcycle’s male and female 4-pin headlight connectors located behind the headlight.
- Connect the female connector on the HEX high-beam splitter to the male wiring harness plug on the headlight.
- Collegare il connettore maschio dello splitter abbaglianti HEX alla spina femmina del cablaggio della motocicletta.
- Carefully route the blue and green trigger wires back to the HEX ezCAN PURE along existing wiring harness runs and frame tubes.
Dividitore LUCE POSTERIORE (sinistra):
- Connect the male single-pin connector on the HEX tail light splitter to the female tail light trigger connector (red wire) on the optional plug-&-play wiring harness.
- Disconnect the motorcycle’s black 3-pin JWPF connector, located in front of the tail light.
- Connect the female JWPF connector on the tail light splitter to the male JWPF wiring harness plug on the motorcycle.
- Connect the male JWPF connector on the tail light splitter to the female JWPF wiring harness plug on the motorcycle.
- Carefully route the sheathed red trigger wire back to the HEX ezCAN PURE along existing wiring harness runs and frame tubes.
Splitter INDICATORI DI DIREZIONE:
Collegare e instradare i cavi dello splitter degli indicatori di direzione come segue:
- Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ JWPF turn signal splitter with black wire between the JWPF connectors for the left front turn signal.
- Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ JWPF turn signal splitter with brown wire between the JWPF connectors for the right front turn signal.
- Riportare con cura i cavi di attivazione degli indicatori di direzione all'HEX ezCAN PURE lungo i cablaggi esistenti e i tubi del telaio.
Cablaggio plug-&-play cablaggio HIGH BEAM/HORN:
Installa i collegamenti degli abbaglianti e del clacson del cablaggio plug-&-play principale lungo la motocicletta come segue:
- Partendo dal connettore JWPF a 6 pin del cablaggio plug-and-play opzionale, tenere insieme i cavi degli abbaglianti e del clacson del cablaggio plug-and-play avvolgendoli con nastro isolante elettrico a intervalli di circa 10 cm (4″).
- In corrispondenza dei connettori dei cavi degli abbaglianti e del clacson, utilizzare del nastro isolante per fissare temporaneamente una fascetta di medie dimensioni al cablaggio plug-&-play opzionale.
- Dal punto in cui il cablaggio plug-&-play principale si collega all'ezCAN PURE, instradare i collegamenti degli abbaglianti e del clacson in avanti lungo i bordi interni del tubo del sottotelaio superiore sinistro della motocicletta, sotto il bordo inferiore sinistro del serbatoio del carburante e lungo il cablaggio principale verso il faro e il clacson.
Splitter HORN:
- Connect the male single-pin connector on the green horn trigger wire (red arrow, below) to the female horn trigger connector on the optional plug-&-play input harness.
- Remove the spade terminal with black wire from the factory horn (below).
- Collegare il terminale a forcella maschio+femmina dello splitter del clacson al terminale maschio esposto sul clacson (sotto).
- Collegare il terminale a forcella femmina scollegato al terminale maschio esposto sullo splitter dell'avvisatore acustico (sotto).
- Riportare con cura il cavo dello splitter dell'avvisatore acustico all'HEX ezCAN PURE lungo i cablaggi esistenti e i tubi del telaio.

Per garantire che HEX ezCAN PURE offra prestazioni ottimali, regolare i suoi ingressi di controllo come segue:
- Set the input inversion settings and threshold voltage values as seen in Step 2C of the HEX ezCAN PURE Software Download & Configuration Guide.
