HEX ezCAN for BMW, Generation I (3-wire)
HEX ezCAN Generation II
Depending on the period in which HEX ezCANs have been manufactured for BMW, three different power circuit connectors have been used. The specifications of all connectors are given below.
IMPORTANT: Generation I HEX ezCANs are no longer in production. All HEX ezCANs currently in production are Generation II.
HEX ezCAN for BMW, Generation I (2-wire)
This iteration of HEX ezCAN used two-pin Superseal connectors (above), with the following components:
On all power circuit connectors:
The red, orange, yellow and white wires (wire number 1) are the positive wires for each power circuit.
Wire number 2 (the black wire) is the negative/ground wire.
HEX ezCAN for BMW, Generation I (3-wire)
This iteration of HEX ezCAN used three-pin Superseal connectors (above), with the following components:
HEX ezCAN Generation II (3-wire)
This is the current iteration of HEX ezCAN. It uses three-pin Sumitomo MT connectors (above) with the following components:
Since the HEX ezCAN entered production, modifications have been made to the control wiring and power circuit wiring specifications. The specifications of all wiring are given below.

Yes, you can.
For detailed model-specific instructions on how to operate front auxiliary lights on the move (including turning the lights on and off, adjusting light intensity levels, temporarily switching off all front and rear lights, and strobing front auxiliary lights when the bike’s ‘Flash-to-pass’ button is pressed), refer to the Operating auxiliary front lights section of the HEX ezCAN User Manual. Download the user manual from the Software page at this link.
The second-generation HEX ezCAN evolved from a growing demand for more features and adaptability, and also that HEX ezCANs be made available for more makes beside BMW.
This led to a number of radical design changes being made on Generation II HEX ezCANs. Some of these are as follows:
