With advancing technological developments, as well as ongoing demand for new features and more functionality, HEX ezCAN design has evolved. This page lists the differences in hardware and software between the different HEX ezCAN iterations.

HEX ezCAN Generation II
Depending on the period in which HEX ezCANs have been manufactured for BMW, three different power circuit connectors have been used. The specifications of all connectors are given below.

This iteration of HEX ezCAN used two-pin Superseal connectors (above), with the following components:
On all power circuit connectors:
The red, orange, yellow and white wires (wire number 1) are the positive wires for each power circuit.
Wire number 2 (the black wire) is the negative/ground wire.
HEX ezCAN for BMW, Generation I (3-wire)
This iteration of HEX ezCAN used three-pin Superseal connectors (above), with the following components:
HEX ezCAN Generation II (3-wire)
This is the current iteration of HEX ezCAN. It uses three-pin Sumitomo MT connectors (above) with the following components:
