Optional Plug & Play Input Harness - Kove 001

This is a step-by-step guide to installing an optional, model-specific HEX ezCAN PURE plug & play input harness on Kove 800X models.

Kove 001 optional plug & play input harness packaging:

Plug & play harnesses are currently available for the following Kove motorcycles:

  • 800X (2024 onward)
  • 800X Rally (2025 onward)
  • 800X Pro (2026 onward)
  • 800X Touring (2026 onward)
  • 1x main plug-&-play input harness for Kove 800X
  • 1x rear light sub-harness
  • 1x horn trigger harness with green wire

Schritt 1

Schritt 2

Die erforderlichen Verbindungspunkte freilegen

IMPORTANT: All disassembly and reassembly instructions on this page are to be regarded as a guide only. For detailed instructions, refer to your motorcycle’s service or workshop manual as appropriate.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Signalanschlusspunkte leicht zugänglich sind, indem Sie die folgenden Schritte ausführen:

  1. Entfernen Sie den Sitz.
  2. Remove the trim panel forward of the fuel filler cap (left).
  3. Remove the left-side and right-side upper crash bars (red arrow, right).
  4. Remove the left-side and right-side fairing panels forward of the fuel tank (green arrow, right).
  5. Disconnect the 2-pin JWPF connectors connecting the left and right front turn signals to the motorcycle’s wiring harness.
    • The battery is located under the left-side fairing panel.
  1. The wiring harness connector for the tail light is located under the rear portion of the seat, to the right of the engine ECU (red arrow, left).
      • The wiring harness connector for the tail light is a white, 3-pin JWPF connector.
      • The 4-pin JWPF connector is not used for optional plug-&-play harness installation.
  1. The white 4-pin headlight connector is located under the left-side fairing panel (red arrow, right).
  1. The wiring harness connector for the tail light is located under the rear portion of the seat, to the right of the engine ECU (red arrow, right).
      • The wiring harness connector for the tail light is a white, 3-pin JWPF connector.
      • The 4-pin JWPF connector is not used for optional plug-&-play harness installation.
  1. The white 4-pin headlight connector is located under the left-side fairing panel (red arrow, below).
  1. The horn is located on the front right side of the engine, below the radiator (red arrow, below).

Schritt 3

Entscheiden Sie über den Standort des HEX ezCAN

When installing a HEX ezCAN PURE on Kove 800X models, there are two recommended installation points for the HEX ezCAN device:

  • Underneath the trim panel forward of the fuel filler cap.
  • Underneath the left-side fairing panel, in the vicinity of the battery.


Our experience has shown that either of these placements give the best combination of input connector placement, battery cable slack, ease of access to the USB port and status LED, and protection from damage.

Schritt 4

Schließen Sie den optionalen Plug & Play-Eingangsstecker an den HEX ezCAN PURE an.

Connect the 6-pin male JWPF connector on the optional plug & play input harness to the HEX ezCAN PURE’s 6-pin female JWPF connector (below).

Schritt 5

Schließen Sie den optionalen Plug-and-Play-Kabelbaum an das Motorrad an.

Schalten Sie zunächst die Zündung des Motorrads aus.

Next, connect the input connectors on the Plug & play harness to the motorcycle as follows:

Fernlichtteiler (rechts):

  1. Trennen Sie die 4-poligen Stecker und Buchsen des Scheinwerfers, die sich unter der linken Frontverkleidung befinden.
  2. Verbinden Sie den weiblichen Stecker am HEX-Fernlichtteiler mit dem männlichen Kabelbaumstecker am Motorrad.
  3. Verbinden Sie den Stecker am HEX-Fernlichtteiler mit der Buchse am Kabelbaum des Motorrads.
  4. Verlegen Sie das blaue Auslösedraht vorsichtig entlang der vorhandenen Kabelbäume und Rahmenrohre zurück zum HEX ezCAN PURE.

RÜCKLEUCHTEN-Splitter (links):

  1. Connect the male single-pin connector on the HEX ezCAN tail light splitter to the female tail light trigger connector (red wire) on the optional plug-&-play wiring harness.
  2. Disconnect the motorcycle’s 3-pin JWPF connectors located under the rear portion of the seat, to the right of the engine ECU.
  3. Verbinden Sie den weiblichen JWPF-Stecker am Rücklichtverteiler mit dem männlichen JWPF-Kabelbaumstecker am Motorrad.
  4. Verbinden Sie den männlichen JWPF-Stecker am Rücklichtverteiler mit dem weiblichen JWPF-Kabelbaumstecker am Motorrad.
  5. Carefully route the sheathed red trigger wire back to the HEX ezCAN PURE along existing wiring harness runs and frame tubes.

Blinker-Splitter:

Verbinden und verlegen Sie die Kabel des Blinkersplitters wie folgt:

  1. Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ JWPF turn signal splitter with black wire between the JWPF connectors for the left front turn signal.
  2. Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ JWPF turn signal splitter with brown wire between the JWPF connectors for the right front turn signal.
  3. Verlegen Sie die Kabel des Blinkersensors vorsichtig entlang der vorhandenen Kabelbäume und Rahmenrohre zurück zum HEX ezCAN PURE.

HORN -Splitter:

  1. Connect the male single-pin connector on the green horn trigger wire (red arrow, below) to the female horn trigger connector on the main plug-&-play input harness.
  1. Remove the spade terminal with red wire from the factory horn (below).
  1. Verbinden Sie den Stecker- und Buchsenkontakt des Hornverteilers mit dem freiliegenden Steckeranschluss am Horn (unten).
  1. Verbinden Sie die abgetrennte Flachsteckhülse mit dem freiliegenden Stecker am Hornsplitter (unten).
  1. Verlegen Sie das Hornsplitterkabel vorsichtig entlang der vorhandenen Kabelbäume und Rahmenrohre zurück zum HEX ezCAN PURE.

Schritt 6

Stellen Sie die Werte für die Eingangsinversion und die Schwellenspannung ein.

Um sicherzustellen, dass der HEX ezCAN PURE seine maximale Leistung erbringt, passen Sie seine Steuereingänge wie folgt an:

  1. Set the input inversion settings and threshold voltage values as seen in Step 2C of the HEX ezCAN PURE Software Download & Configuration Guide.
  2. Wenn die auf der oben genannten Seite angegebenen Schwellenspannungswerte keine konsistente Leistung liefern, passen Sie die Werte gemäß den zusätzlichen Konfigurationseinstellungen für HEX ezCAN PURE im HEX ezCAN-Benutzerhandbuch an (das Handbuch kann hier heruntergeladen werden).
