Optional Plug & Play Input Harness - Honda 002

This is a step-by-step guide to installing an optional, model-specific HEX ezCAN PURE plug-&-play input harness on the Honda XL750 Transalp.

Honda 002 optional plug & play input harness packaging:

An optional plug-&-play harness is currently available for the following models:

  • XL750 Transalp (2023-2025)

  • 1x main plug-&-play input harness with integral tail light splitter, turn signal splitters, and high beam and horn connectors
  • 1x high beam splitter

The generic HEX ezCAN PURE installation guide contains all the general procedures you need to install a HEX ezCAN PURE on your Honda Transalp XL750 (2023 onwards).

For the Honda Transalp XL750 (2023-2025) models, if you are planning to install an optional HEX plug-&-play input harness instead of the generic input harness included with the HEX ezCAN PURE, read the instructions below in conjunction with the generic HEX ezCAN PURE installation guide.

Stap 2

Maak de benodigde aansluitpunten zichtbaar

Make sure all signal input connection points are easily accessible by doing the steps that follow.

  1. Verwijder de stoel.
    • The battery is located under the rider’s portion of the seat (red arrow, right).
  1. Remove the instrument cluster as follows:
    • Remove the two screws at the upper left and upper right corners of the dash panel (red arrows, left).
    • The lower left and lower right edges of the dash panel are secured to the inner fairing panels by one small black plastic push clip per side. The push clips can be reached from the top of the dash assembly (green arrows, right). Remove the clips by pressing their centre locking pins inward with the blade of a flat screwdriver, then pulling the clips out.
    • Use the blade of a medium-sized flat screwdriver to gently pry the outermost left and right corners of the dash panel outward, freeing them from the inner fairing panels (green arrows, left).
    • The dash panel is held in by four rubber grommets (red arrows, below). Free the dash panel by gently and evenly pulling the assembly away from the headlight.
    • Slide the protective rubber boot away from the TFT display, and disconnect white electrical connector from the rear of the TFT display.
    • Disconnect the headlight wiring harness connector (green arrow, right).
  1. The horn is located on the lower right edge of the radiator (left).
  1. Remove the two screws securing the tail light compartment cover (red arrows, right).
  2. Remove the tail light compartment cover by gently pulling the cover from back to front.
  1. Remove the front fairing panels and the underseat trim panels (red arrows, left) from the left side and right side of the motorcycle.
  1. The wiring harness connector for the tail light is located in the small compartment behind the rear of the seat.
    • The green arrow at right shows the location of the tail light wiring harness connector.
  2. The wiring harness connectors for the rear turn signals are protected by a clear plastic sleeve (red arrow, right).
  1. The turn signal connector assignments (left) are as follows:
    • The wiring harness connector for the left-side turn signal is an orange 2-pin connector.
    • The wiring harness connector for the right-side turn signal is a blue 2-pin connector.

Stap 3

Bepaal de locatie van de HEX ezCAN

When installing a HEX ezCAN PURE on Honda XL750 Transalp models, we recommend that you install the main body of the HEX ezCAN PURE underneath the seat, in the vicinity of the battery.

Onze ervaring heeft geleerd dat deze plaatsing de beste combinatie biedt van plaatsing van de ingangsaansluiting, speling van de batterijkabel, gemakkelijke toegang tot de USB-poort en status-LED, en bescherming tegen schade.

Stap 4

Connect the Optional Plug & Play Input Harness to the HEX ezCAN PURE

Sluit de 6-pins mannelijke JWPF-connector op de optionele plug-&-play-ingangskabelboom aan op de 6-pins vrouwelijke JWPF-connector van de HEX ezCAN PURE (zie hieronder).

Stap 5

Connect the Optional Plug & Play Harness to the Motorcycle

Schakel eerst de contactschakelaar van de motorfiets UIT.

Sluit vervolgens de ingangsconnectoren op de optionele plug-&-play-kabelboom als volgt aan op de motorfiets:

TAIL LIGHT splitter (black connectors, right):

Connect the tail light splitter as follows:

  1. Separate the motorcycle’s 3-pin tail light connector from the tail light.
  2. Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ black tail light splitter between the motorcycle’s tail light and female tail light connector.

TURN SIGNAL splitters (orange and blue connectors, above):

Connect the turn signal splitters as follows:

  1. Separate the motorcycle’s orange male and orange female 2-pin rear turn signal connectors.
  2. Connect the optional plug-&-play harness’ orange (left-side) turn signal splitter between the motorcycle’s orange male and female 2-pin rear turn signal connectors.
  3. Connect the plug-&-play harness’ blue (right-side) turn signal splitter between the motorcycle’s blue male and female 2-pin rear turn signal connectors.
  4. Neatly bunch the tail light and turn signal splitter wiring connections, and carefully slide the connections into the wide end of the protective wedge-shaped plastic sleeve.
  5. Route the tail light and turn signal splitter wiring forward from the tail light, toward the battery.

Optional plug-&-play harness HIGH BEAM/HORN wiring:

Route the optional plug-&-play harness’ high beam and horn connections forward along the motorcycle as follows:

  1. From the point at which the main plug-&-play harness connects to the ezCAN PURE:
    • Route the blue high beam wire forward along the upper left side of the motorcycle, following existing wiring runs and frame tubes.
    • Route the green horn wire forward along the upper right side of the motorcycle, following existing wiring runs and frame tubes.

HIGH BEAM -splitter (rechts):

From the point at which the high beam wire reaches the radiator, continue to route the wire forward toward the headlight, inside the left front fairing panel.

Connect the high beam splitter to the headlight unit as follows:

  1. Koppel de koplampconnector los van de koplampunit van de motorfiets.

  4. Carefully route the blue trigger wire back to the HEX ezCAN PURE along existing wiring harness runs and frame tubes on the upper left side of the motorcycle.
  5. Sluit de eenpolige stekker aan het open uiteinde van de blauwe triggerkabel aan op de eenpolige stekker aan het open uiteinde van de rode kabel op de optionele plug-&-play-kabelboom.

HORN -splitter:

From the point at which the horn wire reaches the radiator on the upper right side of the motorcycle, route the wire down toward the horn.

On the XL570 Transalp, two wires connect to the horn.
The black wire is the horn power wire, while the black wire with green tracer is the horn ground wire.

  1. Connect the single-pin plug on the open end of the green horn trigger wire to the single-pin plug on the open end of the green wire on the optional plug-&-play harness (below).
  1. Remove the spade terminal with black wire from the factory horn (below).

Stap 6

De motorfiets weer in elkaar zetten

De procedure voor het opnieuw monteren is het omgekeerde van het demonteren.

Stap 7

Stel de waarden voor invoerinversie en drempelspanning in

Om ervoor te zorgen dat de HEX ezCAN PURE optimale prestaties levert, stelt u de besturingsinvoer als volgt in:

  1. Set the input inversion settings and threshold voltage values as seen in Step 2C of the HEX ezCAN PURE Software Download & Configuration Guide.
  2. Als de drempelspanningswaarden op de bovenstaande pagina geen consistente prestaties opleveren, pas dan de waarden aan zoals aangegeven in het gedeelte Extra configuratie-instellingen voor HEX ezCAN PURE van de HEX ezCAN-gebruikershandleiding (download de handleiding hier).
